Princess has turned 2! And its a low key birthday for granny just passed away, all my paternal side relatives cannot celebrate with her. So mummy dearest cooked a sumptous dinner for daddy's family instead :)
It was a day packed with lots of activities. Morning there's lesson at Julia Gabriels afterwhich we met up with Aunty Lisa for lunch and pasteries at Cova which serve yummy cakes & sandwiches. Then its grocery shopping!
Menu fit for 8 diners-
1. Prawns with saltd egg yolk
2. Honey roast chicken wings
3. Bean Curd with pork floss
4. Traditional Miso Soup
I would say it was a success! Too bad no picture as proof. haha.
My FIL love the soup & prawns. And I made my hubby proud :)
100 brownie points!
The main hero - a Barney birthday cake from Prima Deli!
And the highlight of the night - kaira got drunk!
She drank 2 big sips of green tea &volka mixwhich soon got her so high and lobster red that she did a dance on the bed. hahahaaa
Thank god there's no hangover next day.

Invisible friend
Yes daddy is very sure, 100% confirmed, there's another 'thing' in the room. And only visible to princess!
She has been acting strange since 2-3 weeks back and nighttime is my nightmare. Really.
Try getting woken up from sweetdreams in the middle of the each night by sharp screaming. And not once but twice! Once at 2.45am & another at 6plus am. Its a blessing I am now helping out in the family business, otherwise I would be on no-pay leave straight!
Princess refused to let us switch off the lights at night and only willing to shut-eye aft 12am.
Sigh. I do, really, need advice from higher beings...time to sought my faith.

老师早安!
Ok mummy has not been diligent enough to update your blog weekly. My excuse is too emotionally and phsically drained at age 31. It's no joke raising a young one in your mid-life.
Princess has started class at Julia Gabriels (located @ Evans road) and *cross fingers* things has been so far so good :) She really enjoys the musical part aka singing & clowning... and I beleve she's the only kid in class to know how to sing Twinkle Little Star full version! haha
The funny thing is, princess can't form a sentence yet able to sing a full song! Is that music genius or wat?! Mmm Vanessa Mae or Sun Ho? haha I shall dream my little dream...
Gosh I've sidetracked too much. Back to lessons. Her 1st lesson commenced on 4th Jul, Sat. As its biligual class, there's 2 mandarin female teachers & 2 english teachers (1 male & 1 female). And there's already activity! Aahhh... such fun! Not sure abt Princess, I totally enjoyed myself! Its like walking down memory lane...forgotten childhood.

Hurt by hot water - 2days ago
I knew something like this will happen - getting scalded by hot water ,has always been my 1st worry. Little Kaira loves hanging out in the kitchen and loves playing with pens and plates... I really am not in great shock when my in-laws break the news to me.
As usual, I never get to witness kaira's getting-in-trouble act. I was out jogging around neighbourhood and within this short span of 40mins, she has to get herself into shit. SIGH SIGH SIGH. We have this hot flask which we will bring to our room everynight to make her mik. SO my smart-ass and kind FIL put it at the low table in the living room for our convenienced. Who knows little Kaira took to playing with the flask when NO single pair of eyes were watching her (beats me. when u gota be in shit u gota be in shit)...PRESSO! She's crying like a slaughtered pig.
Lucky its not serious like 3rd degree burnt but its serious enough to leave a mark on her chest. And lucky the hot water didnt flow fast enough to get into her throat. It dribbled down her chest instead.
Hope this will teach her a lesson not to play with flask.

Ringggggggggggggggg! Class starting!
Yippy Kaira is starting her 1st lesson tomorrow @ Julia Gabriel - Sat 4July (wow US independence day). Located at Evans, it has a peaceful atmosphere with lots of greenary. Perfect way to embrace nature for little ones...I even spotted a cute squirrel on my trip to register her! A sweet surprised.
I'm not sure if she will gel with the rest of the kids and her reactions to many little ones for 2 full hours... this is THE big test to find out whether she has mummy's outgoing nature OR daddy's reserved attitude. haha

Terror 2!!
She has become soooo impossible lately that I have to use my secret weapon - cane! It's powess is simply god-ly that even a dragon is not it's match! haha
Princess has turned into a little terror scaring everyone with her tantrum and her loud crying. It really gets on everyone's nerves! Even my almighty MIL has been defeated. I hear the impatience in her voice on countless occasions. Trust me, there is a limit to everything, including love.
Her routine these days - good morning ard 9.30am, nap ard 2pm, visit to the playground ard 5-ish, goodnight ard11.30pm!! Little one is picky in everything, from food to clothes to what cds to watch such butter breadm 1/2boiled egg & cheese as opposed to porridge; Dora the Explorer, Barney, Hi-5 as opposed to reading a book or OKTO programmes. Oh her fave top is this purple T-shirt with a rabbit print from Bonds. Actually she does look pretty in it. Her greatest love is Bubbles! Oh how she loved those blow-bubble toy. She can get on it for hours!

The day my maternal granny passed away.
The day of judgement for the family.
The day I realised the meaning of "Family".
The day I (changed my mind) decided to give Princess Kaira a sibling.
The day I vow to give my parents my 100% TLC and undivided attention.
Most importantly, this is the day I grew up and learned new things.

Slave to my princess!!
Just back from a 5days trip to Miri, visiting my sis and a good get together for the kids. And I SURVIVED!!! Well THEY definately lurve the place! Here's the overview of the 5days timeline:-
Breakfast
Marketing/Buy educational cds
Lunch
Home for kids afternoon nap
Playground time
Dinner
Bedtime
There's so many playgrounds and some are with really nice scenary! We even caught a pretty rainbow!
During this trip, I am enlightened. Life with 1 kid still paint a rosy picture. Trust me. Wait till you see 弟弟 Leo. He drive me nuts with his parroting (repeating his gor gor action or words), and keeps whining the whole time! He's such a bad influence that my princess also became a parrot. arrrghhhhh
The happiest people are the little kids. And we, the parents, are slave to our kids.

Bing Bang Pong
Another record of the month. Princess had 2 falls back-to-back in the month of March.
The 1st, surprisingly, leaves no mark on her except the cut from the broken Jade bangle. However the 2nd fall which is not as bad as the 1st left a baluku on her forehead.
Anyway 跌了才会大

Another Fall
Princess scared the daylight out of me this evening. Once again no one saw how she fell. All we heard was the clank sound of her jade bangle hitting the floor. Its broken into 2 pieces and thank god she's ok. As usual she's like a monkey climbing every sofa and true to mummy's prophecy - kaira fell down the bloody high chair. The broken jade tore her skin and it was bleeding. And she was wailing non stop. Gosh kaira can really whine and seek attention. Well girls have every right huh.
Anyway am sure this wont be the last of it. She's so tom-boy!
Oh I missed out on her naughty act. Now that she's learning to write, she has put her markings on the 3-seater yellow sofa, our white wall and herself! She will doodle on her legs and arms and come to you saying "Orh". It can be endearing and yet exasperating!
At least she's afraid of the rubber band - mummy's weapon! haha.

Really mummy should be more diligent in updating this blog. Its meant to note down the little bits of info in princess life...And many things did indeed took place.
1st there was princess getting herself injured again. A pretty little scar on her chin which looks like a cleft chin, caused by the branches in the front yard. Hell bent on getting the broom hidden behind 2 potted plants, she is the caused of her "disfigurment".
Then a U.S friend came for a 3 weeks visit and was busy bringing them island hopping for yummy food. Princess was acting like a big Sister to her 18month son - Kilik. Yes she loves kids but mummy is not ready for another baby bro or sis....not financially, not emotionally, no no no.
And now Kaira is going for her 1st trip out-of-Singapore! We got a wedding invitation from FIL brother who is marrying off his son (I thinkg, and who cares). So tomorrow we are jet-setting of to Fu Yong and staying overnight. Well I hope its gonna be fun cos its no fun packing for a family of 3 that has a kid!
Gosh can I tow the whole house along??

Ace Boy
Lately we have discovered a magic word when it comes to getting princess to do our bidding.
Its Ace Boy.
Its the name of the dog at my granny's place which princess fear. Alot. I mean yes it not healthy to scare kids like that but hey! if its effective in getting her to sleep, to drink milk, or not do something annoying, what the hell, anything goes!

Yes mummy is lazy. Let me redeemed myself - super tired. Most of the night I would loved to stay up late and do my stuff like blog/read/make jewellery/surf BUT I'll be in dreamland together with my darling. sigh. Once you reach certain age, you just cannot ignore the fact your body isnt in its prime condition.
And princess has gone through soooo much that I'm fishing in my brain to see what I've missed for this blog...Besides the fact that she is so show-off and talkative, she's definately tall for toddler her age - standing at 83cm at 18mths. Kids her age is usually around 80cm max. However (according to Dr YY Yip) she is abit on the low side for her weight. It should be over 11kg but gasp! princess is only 10.6kg.
Yes I am lazy mummy. My teaching her to read/do things are spurs of moments only because I saw how much my little nephew, Leo (who is 40days older than kaira), has progressed. Talk about boys being slower than girls - This is so not the case. Therefore when kaira 1st showed signs of speech progression, I immediately taught her to say 'O-PEN'. Why 'O-PEN'? Well she loves playing with utensils. And off the record, she has broken 3 items in the kitchen and 1 of them is my MIL fave bowl. OK back to the origin - Its kinda pissing your kid is always pushing things into your face and screaming her head off. What the hell do I know what she wants? Or she points at at a bottle and when you passed it to her she starts screaming. Duh?! So I started off saying -"Kaira what do you want?" Then she will duly replied "penn". Which gramathically is wrong. So not the ideal parenting. It took me only 1 day tutorial so get her on the right track. ha ha. Smart girl.
I've recorded some speech events which is the highlight of her growing up - kaira version of 'O-PEN' and her make-no-sense-chatting/singing.
OK backtrack to 2008 Christmas.
Well kaira has gotten her 1st watch! A wonderful gift from Aunty Elizabeth. The rest are the usual like clothings, $$$, pamper, toys...

1st laptop (from uncle HaiHwa)
AND some of my fave pic of her...
